From central Cairo, the quickest way to get to the Pyramids of Giza is to head west on El Tahrir. Cross Gezira Island, and then take Charles de Gaulle, go on to Al Haram, and the Khatem El-Morsaleen to reach El-Malek Fouad. Then, you need to take a left onto Haret Eizis and you will find the ticket office at the Sphinx entrance.
However, driving down to the Pyramids of Giza is not recommended. Apart from the heavy traffic, it is also very difficult to find parking at the Pyramids since most of the space is occupied by tour buses and taxis. A better option would be to take a taxi or rent a car and driver for the day.

There are a number of parking spaces available at the Giza Complex:

  • Sphinx entrance: There is a parking lot located near the ticket office, and stretches across to the entrance for the Sound & Light Show 
  • Great Pyramid entrance: A larger parking lot lies near this entrance. It is located near the Marriott Mena House Hotel and can be reached from Al-Hara Road.
  • If these lots are full, it is also possible to find a spot and park on the roadside near the entrances to the Pyramids of Giza.
