Nearest stop: Al Mansour Road
- From central Cairo, you can take the large white CTA (Cairo Transport Authority) buses out to Giza.
- Routes 355 or 357 from around EL Tahir Square and the Egyptian Museum will take to the Pyramids.
- Remember that the bus numbers are often not clearly visible or written in Arabic, so ask the driver where the bus is going.
- You must purchase tickets from the conductor after getting on.

- Microbuses or small vans also travel along major routes to the pyramids from any normal bus stop.

- There are usually two carriages on each metro train reserved for women, look for the blue ‘Ladies’ signs on the platform.

Driving to the Pyramids of Giza

Best Routes to the Pyramids of Giza by Car
From central Cairo, the quickest way to get to the Pyramids of Giza is to head west on El Tahrir. Cross Gezira Island, and then take Charles de Gaulle, Al Haram, Khatem El-Morsaleen, and Tersa to reach El-Malek Fouad in Nazlet El-Semman. Then you need to take a left onto Haret Eizis and you will find the ticket office of the Sphinx entrance.
However, driving down to the Pyramids of Giza is not recommended. Apart from the heavy traffic, it is also very difficult to find parking at the Pyramids since most of the space is occupied by tour buses and taxis. A better option would be to take a taxi or rent a car and driver for the day.

Parking Near the Pyramids of Giza
There are a number of parking spaces available at the Giza Complex:
- Sphinx entrance: There is a parking lot located near the ticket office, and stretches across to the entrance for the Sound & Light Show
- Great Pyramid entrance: A larger parking lot lies near this entrance. It is located near the Marriott Mena House hotel and can be reached from Al-Hara Road.
- If these lots are full, it is also possible to find a spot and park on the roadside near the entrances to the Pyramids of Giza.
Please note that due to the desert heat, you car will get boiling hot as will any water or any other items left in the car.
